Context

Better known simply as the Worboys Report, this is the final publication produced by the Worboys Committee, which investigated all-purpose road signs and produced a new set of road sign standards for use on British Roads. It sets out their methodology and reasoning, then describes the system they have created and depicts all their new traffic signs.

Contents of note

A small number of signs shown in this book were changed after it went to print but before the legal regulations were published, meaning that it contains some signs that were never actually authorised. Most notable among these is the "no overtaking" sign in which the right-hand car symbol is crossed out with a red bar, not coloured red.
